The project was done during studies that were aiming to introduce better living standards.

 

In the existing situation, there is very dense development in the courtyard where all free space between buildings is used as a big parking with randomly placed bins. Distances between buildings are very small and in some case on at the lower floors flats don't receive a natural light. Green area just don't exist either a safe playground. 

 

The proposed solution creates a green safe urban interior. And the amount of new flats covers the existing amount. All parking is moved underground and for new units would be accessed directly from the basement floor. The ground floor and the mezzanine are dedicated for retail while upper floors accommodate different standards flats all with spacious green balconies.

The balconies have a second purpose. There would be installed an installation to catch heat in summer and cumulate it in the oil or a ground magazine under the building and used it in winter to time to reduce the heating costs. 

​

 

Moreover, the big atrium would help in air exchange. Also, all rainwater would be used for watering the balconies.
